Mets and USO team up to prepare care packages for veterans

Dec. 13, 2023 By Ethan Marshall

The New York Mets and the United Service Organizations (USO) partnered to prepare care packages for members of the United States military serving overseas during the holiday season on Thursday, Dec. 7 at Citi Field. The event was held as a way to give back to the troops on National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

Members of the accounting firm Sax LLP volunteered to prepare these packages. They were led by Peter J. Scalise, the firm’s National Partner-in-Charge of the Federal Tax Credits and Incentives Practice. Scalise is also a member of the USO’s Northeast Region Advisory Board and the Founding Chair of the USO’s Accountants Salute the Troops Council.

“Sax is beyond proud to contribute to the USO and their efforts to support our men and women in uniform,” Scalise said.

The USO’s Accountants Salute to the Troops Council brings accountants across the country together to provide greater awareness of the USO and to raise much-needed funding to support the United States military.
