The Sunnyside library, located at 43-06 Greenpoint Ave., will be closing once again—although this time it will be for construction as opposed to COVID-19.
The branch will close on Thursday, Nov. 5 for approximately two months as the Queens Public Library, which oversees the branch, works on automating the front doors to bring them into ADA compliance.
The Sunnyside branch, which has been operating on a “to-go” model since reopening on Sept. 28, will no longer be taking item requests for to-go service.
Under the “to-go” model, residents can request items online, through the QPL app or by phone and pick them up in a designated area of a branch building
Items that have already been put on hold at Sunnyside can still be picked up at the branch through Nov 4.
Returns will not be accepted at the branch during the closure and will need to be dropped off at other branch libraries in the system.
