A 19-year-old was arrested Wednesday after he struck a pedestrian in Glendale and drove off.

Brian Singh, of South Richmond Hill, was driving a GMC Yukon at 2:40 p.m. when he hopped a center median at Myrtle Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard and hit a 17-year-old pedestrian, police said.

The victim was rushed to Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition, a police spokesperson said Thursday.

Singh originally left the scene of the crash, but returned and was arrested shortly after 3 p.m., the spokesperson said.

The 19-year-old told police officers that he had fallen asleep behind the wheel.

He was charged with leaving the scene and reckless driving, police said.

Gov Cuomo has allowed all illegal aliens to get a NYS drivers license. Is it OK to ask “what is the legal immigration status of Brian Singh?”

No, it isn’t. If his name were Brian Jones, would you ask that? No, you wouldn’t. How would you like it if someone judged you based solely on your name, Jorge Colon?

Yes I would ask, even if his name was Brian Onslow I would ask. Since our Governor of this sanctuary state, in this sanctuary city has decided to allow illegal aliens to have the same driving privileges of citizens and legal residents I think the question is quite valid.

This is especially true when a crime (hit and run driver Brian Singh) is committed. There is all too often this “coincidence” of broken laws. My inquiry about this being OK was not referring to the nature of the question, but rather the comments policy of the Queens Post.
