Feb. 12, 2021 By Allie Griffin

Two men broke into an old-style German deli in Middle Village last month and took off with $9,000.

The thieves busted open the back door of Andy’s Delicatessen, located at 82-17 Eliot Ave., on Jan. 17 at 11:20 p.m. and removed a safe containing the cash. The popular deli has been in Middle Village since 1938.

The thieves got in a gray Mercedes Benz C-series sedan and drove westbound on Caldwell Avenue, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance footage of the suspects and their vehicle on Thursday.

Sounds like it was an inside job – maybe somebody that works there told them where the safe was. They stole from a deli and drove away in a Mercedes? I hope a camera caught the license plate and these POS are arrested! My heart goes out to the deli owner.
