Man Set on Fire After Car Bursts Into Flames in Maspeth Thursday

A man whose car burst into flames in Maspeth this morning was taken to hospital with burn injuries.

Firefighters responded to a 911 call of a car on fire at 60th Avenue and Mt. Olivet Crescent at around 7:30 a.m., authorities said.

The victim was seen on fire – with his clothes in flames – running through the street, sources said.

He was treated by EMS at the scene and transported to Cornell Hospital, according to the FDNY. The extent of his injuries are unknown.

Firefighters extinguished the car fire but have yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
