The Sunnyside branch of the Queens Public Library will reopen Thursday following its closure for construction.
The library, located at 43-06 Greenpoint Ave., will reopen after it shut down Nov. 5 in order for the entrance to be revamped to make it ADA compliant and accessible to all customers. The work involved building a ramp and installing new doors.
The branch will offer to-go service, one of 36 QPL locations to offer the service.
Customers, with to-go service, are able to request materials in advance either online or via the QPL app. They can also call in their requests at 718-990-0728. Patrons can then pick up materials at the branch.
No browsing is permitted under the to-go model and the computers will not be available. Face masks are required inside the library and customers must stay at least six feet apart from other people.
The 24/7 returns at the Sunnyside branch are currently operational, and customers may start making requests for materials.
The hours at the branch will be:
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday (with a one-hour closure from 1 to 2 p.m. for cleaning);
1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday;
12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday (with a one-hour closure from 3 to 4 p.m. for cleaning).
