58-Year-Old Man on Scooter Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck in Flushing Monday: NYPD

A 58-year-old Flushing man riding a scooter was fatally struck by the driver of a pickup truck less than a mile away from his home Monday morning.

Li Ren was driving an electric scooter northbound on Parsons Boulevard when he was fatally hit at around 6:46 a.m. while attempting to turn left onto 32nd Avenue. He was struck by a man driving a 2013 Dodge Ram southbound on Parsons Boulevard, police said.

Officers arrived at the scene of the crash and found Ren with trauma about the body. He was rushed to NY Presbyterian Hospital – Queens, where he was pronounced dead.

The 66-year-old male driver of the Dodge Ram remained at the scene. There have been no arrests.

Ren lived less than a mile away from the scene of the crash on Parsons Boulevard.
