Police are searching for a knife-wielding suspect who slashed a man in the neck before robbing him of his electric scooter in Sunnyside early Saturday.

The suspect approached the 51-year-old victim in front of Rite Aid, located at 46-12 Greenpoint Ave., at around 1:50 a.m. and asked him to hand over his e-scooter.

When the victim resisted, the suspect displayed a knife before slashing the man in the neck and stabbing him in the torso.

The suspect then fled the scene with the victim’s e-scooter, police said.

The victim was transported to Elmhurst Hospital by EMS in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds.
