BMW Driver Dead After Car Crash Leads to Fatal Shooting in South Richmond Hill

A South Richmond Hill man was fatally shot Thursday night after a dispute following a car crash turned deadly.

Anthony Ali, 24, was driving his 2021 blue BMW 430 sedan just before 10 p.m. when he collided with another vehicle at the intersection of 89th Avenue and 116th Street in Richmond Hill, police said.

The crash led to an argument. The dispute escalated and the person in the other vehicle pulled out a gun and shot Ali, police said.

Arriving officers found Ali with gunshot wounds to the head and chest. EMS rushed him to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

There have been no arrest as of Friday morning. The investigation is ongoing.

Videos posted online show a heavy police presence at the scene Thursday night.
