Woman Robs Capital One Bank Branch in Sunnyside Monday

Police are searching for a woman who robbed the Capital One Bank branch in Sunnyside today.

The suspect allegedly entered the 40-02 Queens Blvd. bank at around 4:30 p.m. and started yelling, according to police. She then handed over a note to a teller, although police did not know at this time what was written on it.

The teller complied with the woman’s demand and handed over an unknown amount of cash, police said.

The suspect then exited the bank and fled in an eastward direction on foot up Queens Boulevard.

Police said the woman was unarmed.

She is described as being of Hispanic descent, with a light complexion and being about 5 feet and 3 inches tall.

The woman has brown curly hair and was wearing a gray sweater or a gray jacket. She used a red bandanna to cover her face, police said.
