Man Found Dead in Elmhurst Apartment Building Friday: NYPD

A man was found dead under the porch of an Elmhurst residential building Friday morning.

Police discovered the man’s body at 44-11 72 St. at around 10:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 call, according to the NYPD.

The police received reports that there was a strange odor emanating from the front of the three-story building.

The man’s body was badly decomposed and EMS pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.

The victim’s name has not been released, pending family notification.

The Medical Examiner will ultimately determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
