Police have arrested a suspect wanted for shooting a man in the leg outside a nightclub in Astoria last month.

Abubakar Malik, 37, from Brooklyn, was arrested and charged Monday for shooting a 29-year-old man outside of Alpha Lounge, located at 40-06 Astoria Blvd. South, police said.

The shooting took place at around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12 following a dispute between the pair that turned ugly, cops said.

Malik is alleged to have pulled out a firearm and discharged it twice, striking the victim in his leg.

EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to Mount Sinai Queens in stable condition.

Malik has been charged with assault, reckless endangerment, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police did not say what sparked the initial argument. It is not clear if the Malik and the victim knew one another before the shooting took place.
