A newly-formed Forest Hills group that aims to stamp-out hate by using holistic healing approach is holding an event in MacDonald Park Sunday.

The group, called the Task Force for Holistic Healing, is hosting the event called “A day of Healing in Celebration of Earth Day,” which will consist of a series of self-reflecting exercises that aims promote peace. The event, which will go from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will also include a park clean-up and planting session to coincide with Earth Week.

The task force aims to organize a series of local activities to promote the wellbeing of the environment and inner peace.

The group was formed by Amy Long, of the parks advocacy group Earth Citizens Club of Queens, and Mark Laster of the Forest Hills Green Team, a group that aims to make Forest Hills and Rego Park more environmentally friendly.

The event will begin with participants taking part in a clean-up of the park and then putting down new plantings.

Other activities will include a mind-body healing class, which aims to release stress for physical and emotional healing, and several other exercises such as meditation to create more peaceful communities.

The event is part of Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi’s “Parks Cleanup Series,” which is taking place in Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Rego Park, Middle Village, and Glendale.

“The platform is driven by what is at the heart of our constituencies. In Forest Hills, that’s hands-on investment from our local leaders and an incredible sense of community in every aspect of life.” said Hevesi.

“It’s humbling to work among these individuals and I thank everyone who made this day happen.”

The activities will be family-friendly and open to all. Light refreshments will be available.

SUV driver killed after losing control and crashing into a detached garage in Jamaica: NYPD

A 63-year-old man was killed Tuesday morning after he crashed his SUV after losing control of the vehicle on a residential block in Jamaica.

The driver was behind the wheel of a 2015 Toyota Rav4 traveling eastbound on 90th Street shortly after 5 a.m. when he jumped the east curb at the intersection of 143rd Street and drove straight into the driveway of a home at 89-25 143rd St., police said. The NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that the SUV continued through the driveway before colliding into the detached garage and a parked and unoccupied 2011 Toyota Prius inside the structure. The impact caused the garage to collapse on both vehicles, trapping the Rav4 driver.
