NYPD: Woman Robs Capital One Bank Branch in Sunnyside – Same Bank Robbed Monday

Police are searching for a woman who robbed the Capital One Bank branch in Sunnyside today, less than 48 hours after the same bank was hit by a woman fitting the same description.

The suspect entered the 40-20 Queens Blvd. bank at around 1:50 p.m. and allegedly handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller handed over an unknown amount of cash before the woman fled the bank and head south on 41st Street.

A NYPD helicopter could be seen scouring the area shortly after the robbery. Police describe the woman as being white, with black curly hair. She was wearing a red bandanna over her face.

The robbery comes two days after a woman matching the same description targeted the bank.

The suspect on that occasion entered the bank at around 4:35 p.m., pretended to have a gun and handed over a note. The teller gave her over $1,400 in cash.

Police said it is likely that today’s suspect is the same individual that robbed the bank Monday.

Two men sought in Kew Gardens attempted robbery and stabbing: NYPD

A 24-year-old man was stabbed when he put up a fight during an attempted armed robbery in Kew Gardens early Monday morning. Police from the 102nd Precinct in Richmond Hill are looking for two suspects who confronted the victim as he walked in front of a Visionworks store at 85-11 126th St. just after 2:15 a.m.

One of the assailants pulled out a knife and demanded his property. When the victim refused to comply, a physical altercation ensued and the victim was stabbed multiple times in his right thigh, police said. The attackers fled the location empty-handed in an unknown direction.
