The Hunters Point Parks Conservancy (HPPC) is hosting a fundraising event next week to celebrate the organization and all the stakeholders who help the Long Island City waterfront thrive.
The third annual “Spotlight of the Season” event will take place on Sept. 16 and the gathering will offer attendees an exciting range of activities, performances and food at Frank Ottomanelli’s By The Water, the large event area located next to the East River Ferry Terminal.
The event begins at 6 p.m. and runs until 9:30 p.m. with plenty of family-friendly activities on offer including lawn games and a photo booth.
The LIC Landing will also come alive with music, dance, fitness and magic performances, featuring many of the groups that held events in the park this year.
Tickets for the gala will also include food, drinks and beer from multiple local restaurants and breweries. The gathering will feature food from restaurants such as Tuk Tuk, Woodbines, Casa Enrique and John Brown.

The Conservancy will be honoring Queens Borough President Donovan Richards for his service to the waterfront parks.
The gala returns this year having been canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
Kelly Craig, HPPC board member and chair of the gala committee, said that organizers are keen to promote the community and its resilient spirit.
“We are also ecstatic to… shine a spotlight on all of our amazing local restaurants and cafés that are located right here in the LIC Waterfront area.”
Tickets for the event can be purchased online and range from $25 for children to $100 for a family of four.
All proceeds will go to the Conservancy and will help fund the more than 100 free programming events that it hosts throughout the year, including fitness classes, movies, concerts, art, dance and children’s activities.
