According to authorities, a man was shot in the face during a Laurelton road rage incident in broad daylight over the weekend.
Police from the 105th Precinct are looking for a gunman who opened fire on another motorist on a quiet tree-lined street just before 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 15.
Police say the trouble began with an argument between a 31-year-old man and the suspect in the vicinity of 137th Avenue and 226th Street. The assailant jumped into his vehicle and drove up alongside the victim’s car, then allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired multiple rounds into the vehicle, police said.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the face and was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, according to authorities.
The gunman fled the crime scene in a gray Jeep with New York license plate KES4696 and remains at large, police said.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect and described him as having a dark complexion, short hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt with white lettering across the chest, white sweatpants and white and blue sneakers.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to the suspect’s arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
