With April being Autism Awareness Month, the event — which is scheduled from 9 a.m. t0 1 p.m. — is meant to celebrate autism acceptance and inclusion within the school’s community.

“We are proud of our school for embracing our students and creating a truly inclusive environment,” the Horizon Program said in a statement. “Please consider being a part of our aspirations in continuing our work in inclusivity. Your contribution can directly impact our program. We would love your support and help in celebrating our 5th Annual Autism Acceptance Walk!”

According to P.S. 46Q, the school has the highest number of students with disabilities within the district. The school’s main mission is to engage its students in meaningful and enriching tasks across all subject areas.
