Teenage gunman sought in broad daylight shooting at the Baisley Park Houses in Springfield Gardens: NYPD

A teenage gunman remains at large after opening fire in broad daylight at the Baisley Park Houses in Springfield Gardens on Friday, Sept. 8.

Police from the 113th Precinct are looking for the gunman in the “reckless endangerment” incident that went down just after 3 p.m. in front of 116-80 Guy R. Brewer Boulevard, just a block away from the Baisley Pond Park Cricket Pitch, where he pulled out a black handgun. He proceeded to open fire, shooting numerous times in the direction of an unknown intended target, instead striking the back window of a parked and unoccupied vehicle at the location, according to the NYPD.

The gunman fled the location heading south toward 119th Avenue. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

Through Sept. 3, the 113th Precinct reported 11 shootings incidents, nine less than at the same period last year, a decrease of 45%, according to the most recent CompStat report.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the gunman. He has a dark complexion, a thin build and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black backpack, black pants and black sneakers.

A Hollis woman was indicted by a Queens grand jury on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and other related crimes for illegally occupying a single-family home in Howard Beach.

Laurel Bay, 49, of 198th Street, was arraigned Thursday in Queens Supreme Court on a five-count indictment for allegedly squatting in a house on 99th Street that had been vacant since 2012, with the homeowner managing the property from out of state.

E train rider beaten with a skateboard during attempted robbery, suspect remains at large a month later: NYPD

Police from the 112th Precinct in Forest Hills and Transit District 20 are looking for a suspect who weaponized a skateboard to bludgeon an E train rider last month.

The attack went down during the early morning hours of Monday, Sept. 16, as the 36-year-old victim was sitting on a southbound E approaching the Forest Hills–71st Avenue station at around 3 a.m. when a stranger approached. The intruder attempted to remove property from the victim’s pocket. The targeted rider began to record the older man with his cell phone. The stranger grabbed a skateboard from another rider and smashed the victim in his head, police said Tuesday.
