This weekend in Queens is filled with celebrations and entertainment for all to attend. With the Festival of Lights coming this weekend, as well as stage and screen productions, this weekend is set with amusement. Here are some events to add to your weekend plans.
Friday, Nov. 3
Indie Dance Party: “I Bet You Look Good”
Join the indie music enthusiasts for a thrilling dance party at TV Eye with DJ Nick Marc, who will be spinning indie classics from a huge range of artists, including Arctic Monkeys, David Bowie, The 1975, Primal Scream, The Prodigy, The Strokes, Interpol, Passion Pit and many more, assuring entertainment for all indie music enthusiasts. The Douglaston Community Theatre is calling all to the Zion Church Parish Hall for its live comedy-drama production of Sean Grennan’s “Making God Laugh.” The play is directed by Joe Marshall and features actors Matt Benineasa, James Brautigam, Rosemary Kurtz, Tara Mangione and Christopher Tyrkko to bring the playbook’s family comedy to life. The show will run on Nov. 3, 4 and 10 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 11, 18 and 19 at 2 p.m. Reservations are recommended. The 2023 Full Figured Industry Awards

‘KEJARLAH JANJI’ Screening and Talk
Komisi Pemilihan Umum Indonesia is bringing to the screen, Garin Nugroho’s “KEJARLAH JANJI,” a film revolving around the story of an independent woman and sole caretaker of three children, who are dealing with their hatred of the rival of their father, Janji Usaha, following their father’s death after his loss of the village head election. ONEWIN Diwali Festival of Lights
