Man beaten by assailant inside a Bayside office with garden hose nozzle while accomplices recorded assault: NYPD

Dec. 19, 2023 By Bill Parry

A man was beaten by a stranger with the nozzle of a garden hose inside an office in Bayside last month in a bizarre attack that was caught on a Ring camera.

Police from the 111th Precinct in Bayside reported that the assault occurred at 219-03 Northern Blvd., in an office above a Chinese restaurant, at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

According to cops, a man in black walked into the second-story office followed by two young men who recorded the beatdown on their cell phones. The assailant walked across the office and whipped out a metal garden hose nozzle that he used to bludgeon the 57-year-old victim multiple times in the head, police said.

The three men fled the office in an unknown direction, and they remain at large more than a month later. The victim sustained redness and swelling and was treated at the crime scene by EMS.

The NYPD released a chilling video on Tuesday of the main suspect who was wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, a black baseball cap and facemask during the attack. Cops also released a photo of the man caught on camera outside the office after he removed the facemask.

Police are still looking for his accomplices who recorded the beatdown. One wore a dark hooded sweatshirt, black and white sweatpants and black sneakers, while the third man wore a white T-shirt, dark sweatpants and beige slippers. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Through Dec. 17, the 111th Precinct has reported 97 assaults so far in 2023, one more than the 96 reported at the same point last year, according to the most recent CompStat report.
