New York City has launched a housing lottery for three units in a 5-story mixed-use building at 12-22 Astoria Blvd. in Astoria.
The building has ten residences, seven of which are market rate. The three affordable residences are each two-bedroom units meant for those earning 130% of the area median income (AMI).
The monthly rent for each of the three affordable units is $2,800. They can accommodate between two and five tenants and are meant for those with an area median income ranging from $96,000 to $218,010, depending on the number of people living there.
Amenities for tenants include a recreation room, a fitness studio, a package room, private storage, cold storage and a landscaped roof deck. Tenants are allowed to have one small pet per unit, weighing up to 25 pounds. Electricity, heat, gas, and hot water are all the responsibility of the tenants.

Prospective renters must meet the income and housing size requirements to apply. Those who live in New York City receive a general preference for units. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online by May 23. Applicants who qualify will also be required to meet additional selection criteria.
The building was designed by Angelo Ng + Anthony Ng Architect and developed by Brett Harris of AKI Development.
