Police opened fire at a gun brandishing suspect near the Queensbridge Houses complex Saturday night.
Two officers were trying to intervene in a fight between two men at the corner of Vernon Boulevard and 41st Avenue at around 10:15 p.m. when one of the suspects pulled out a gun, according to police.
One of the officers fired off his weapon after he witnessed Shaliek Brown, 23, produce a firearm, police said.
The police officer did not strike either individual, police said.
Brown, who lives on the complex on 10th Street, was arrested and his firearm was recovered by the police. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.
No one was injured as a result of the shooting, police said.
However, both NYPD officers were removed to Cornell hospital and treated for tinnitus – ringing in their ears.

Crime in Queensbridge. What a shock. I grew up nearby in the late 50s-mid 70s and it hasn’t changed. Crime occurs there only on days that end in y.
