Permits Filed for 8-Story Mixed-Use Building in Kew Gardens

Building permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building on Metropolitan Avenue in Kew Gardens.

The plans call for a 75-foot-tall structure on a site at 132-47 Metropolitan Ave., according to documents filed with the Dept. of Buildings on July 7.

The building will contain 21 apartments, with the units on floors 3 through 8. The third floor will also contain an indoor recreation room and an outdoor recreation area.

The second floor will be be dedicated to an ambulatory and diagnostic facility.

The plans also call for 11 enclosed car parking spaces and 11 bicycle spaces on the first floor as well as mechanical rooms and a compactor room.

Demolition permits were filed in May. A construction time line is not known.

Leonid Bogomolniy (under the 132-47 Metro LLC) is listed as the owner behind the application while Kindo Holding LLC is listed as the architect.

Yeah, that definitely won’t look out of place or offset the neighborhood in any way… Huge thanks to our beloved politicians who know what is best for us. This is horrendous.

Two suspects wanted for robbing a 7 train rider in Jackson Heights: NYPD

Police from the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights and Transit District 20 are still looking for two suspects who roughed up a 7 train rider before robbing him at the Roosevelt Avenue/74th Street transit hub late last month.

The victim was standing on the Flushing-bound platform just before 3:30 a.m. on Monday, March 31, when he was approached by two strangers. One of the perpetrators shoved the victim while snatching his cell phone while his accomplice acted like he had a firearm, police said. The suspects ran out of the station onto Roosevelt Avenue. The victim was not injured during the encounter.

Trio ambushes man near Alley Pond Park, makes off with $120K in cash: NYPD

Police from the 111th Precinct in Bayside are still looking for three perpetrators who allegedly ambushed a man in Oakland Gardens and robbed him of more than $120,000 in cash last month.

The incident occurred near Alley Pond Park just after 10 a.m. On Friday, March 7, when the 45-year-old victim was near 76th Road and 226th Street and the three suspects pulled up alongside him in a gray Dodge Journey SUV. Two men exited the vehicle, shoved the victim to the ground, and forcibly removed a bag containing the $120,000, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation. They got back into the SUV, and the third suspect sped away from the crime scene eastbound on 76th Road toward Springfield Boulevard.
