Eat in Queens Restaurant Month returning for second year in March

Feb. 15, 2024 By Iryna Shkurhan Queens Together, a nonprofit organization that works to reduce food insecurity while also promoting restaurants, is gearing up for its second Eat in Queens Restaurant Month in March.  Last year, the organization partnered with 203 different restaurants across the borough and was able to raise $36,000 that paid for dozens of food distribution events in partnership with community organizations. Feb. 15, 2024 By Anthony Medina Several Queens legislators joined by civic leaders are calling on the Department of Transportation to address dangerous traffic conditions along a section of Metropolitan Avenue in Forest Hills. In a joint letter sent to DOT Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez on Feb. 9, Assembly Member Andrew Hevesi, state Sen. Joseph P. Addabbo Jr, Council Member Lynn Schulman, and Community Board 6 Chair Heather Beers-Dimitriadis urge the agency to install a new traffic light and crosswalk at the intersection of 72nd Road and Metropolitan Avenue.
