Police say the teenager was in front of 96-10 Metropolitan Ave. at around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, when he was approached by a stranger who allegedly pulled out a handgun and forcibly removed the victim’s necklace, earrings and his wallet containing $30 in cash, police said. Goey Charles, 33, of Rochelle Court in Uniondale, was convicted by a jury on Nov. 14 of murder in the second degree for killing 29-year-old Vanessa Pierre and abandoning her lifeless body on a sidewalk.
