Nine businesses that are looking to open licensed cannabis dispensaries in the Ridgewood/Glendale section of Queens will be going before a Community Board 5 committee next week in their quest for approval.

The board’s Liquor License and Cannabis Committee will be reviewing the applications during its first meeting of the year at the Keenan Heiser Brewery American Legion Post, in Glendale, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3.  The committee will then make a recommendation to the full board, which will take a vote at a later date. The board’s decision is advisory, with the state making the ultimate determination.

The locations for new proposed retail cannabis dispensaries are as follows:

  • For 70-24 Myrtle Avenue, in Glendale (Retail Dispensary)
  • For 88-50 Myrtle Avenue, in Glendale (Retail Dispensary)
  • For 64-29 Myrtle Avenue, in Glendale (Retail Dispensary)
  • For 56-34 Myrtle Avenue, in Ridgewood (Retail Dispensary)

  • For 58-45 47th Street, in Maspeth (microbusiness)
  • For 54-10 Flushing Avenue, in Maspeth (Retail Dispensary)

The applicants will be allowed to present their proposals to the public and the committee, according to CB 5.

Residents will be given an opportunity to speak regarding the proposed locations and depending on the number of speakers, individuals will be limited to 2 or 3 minutes of speaking time. The number of speakers will be limited.
