Detectives from the 101st Precinct in Far Rockaway are working to determine what led up to a huge after-school brawl near the intersection of Mott Avenue and Central Avenue on Sept. 11 that left five teenagers with stab or slashing wounds.

Police from the 101st Precinct responded to a 911 call of a large group fighting just before 4 p.m. and, when officers arrived, they found three teenagers slashed and one who was stabbed, according to an NYPD spokesman, who added that a couple of moments later, the officers were alerted to a secondary brawl that occurred nearby that left another teenager with stab wounds.

A 17-year-old boy was rushed by EMS to Jamaica Hospital Center with a stab wound to his left thigh and another 17-year-old was transported to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital with a slashing wound to his face, police said. A 15-year-old boy was taken to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital with a defensive wound to one of his hands.

Two other teens walked into St. John’s Episcopal Hospital one their own for treatment to their wounds, the police spokesman said.

A motive has yet to be established, according to law enforcement sources.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
