Man sought in two house burglaries in Auburndale: NYPD

Police from the 111th Precinct in Bayside are looking for an alleged burglar who broke into two Auburndale homes in broad daylight last month, making off with electronics, jewelry and cash.

The first incident occurred just before 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, when the suspect used a side window to enter a residential home in the vicinity of 192nd Street and Station Road, just down the block from the Auburndale LIRR station. Once inside, the man unplugged a Wi-Fi router and removed approximately $16,000 worth of cash, jewelry and handbags, police said. The suspect ran off heading westbound on 42nd Avenue. There were no injuries reported.

The prolific burglar struck again two days later near Kissena Corridor Park just before noon on Saturday, April 29. Once again, the suspect entered a home in the vicinity of 192nd Street and 53rd Avenue, through a side window. Once inside, he unplugged another Wi-Fi router and removed approximately $50,000 in cash and jewelry. The suspect fled the location on foot heading northbound on 192nd Street. There were no injuries reported.

The NYPD released a surveillance image of the suspect who was wearing a blue and white hooded jacket, a black face covering, camouflage pants, white sneakers and bright orange gloves.
