Manhattan man gets decade behind bars for sex trafficking teen at Flushing hotel: DA

Mar. 16, 2023 By Bill Parry

A Manhattan man on Thursday, March 16, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for sex trafficking a teenage girl for several days inside a Flushing hotel in 2021, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

Quan Raheem Booker, 30, of Seventh Avenue, pleaded guilty in November to sex trafficking of a child before Queens Supreme Court Justice Peter Vallone, Jr.

According to the charges, on Jan. 2, 2021, Booker checked into the One Boutique Hotel at 137-22 Northern Blvd. and rented two rooms from Jan. 2 to Jan. 6. At the hotel, Booker’s phone was used to contact dozens of johns, who were offered prostitution services with the 16-year-old victim and charged by the length of time.

Charges state that the victim had sex for cash with several men, with the proceeds turned over to Booker. The teen victim was rescued as a result of a law enforcement undercover operation during which she was offered for sex in exchange for $240.

Booker was arrested in one of the hotel rooms with nearly $3,000 in cash.

”Undercover operations like this one are key to finding and helping girls that are trafficked,” Katz said. “We will continue to hold accountable those who force them into sex trafficking.”

Justice Vallone handed down a sentence of 10 years imprisonment to be followed by five years of post-release supervision.

Upon his release, Booker will be required to register as a sex offender.
