Nov. 14, 2023 By Anthony Medina

Police from the 104th Precinct arrested the man who allegedly robbed a Middle Village deli earlier this month and attacked a good Samaritan who tried to stop him, according to the NYPD.

Police say the robbery occurred inside Middle Village Deli and Grocery, located at 75-51 67th Dr., at approximately 9:23 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, when the thief entered the business, stole a beer and exited the store without paying.

When the thief was confronted by an unidentified victim, he allegedly hit the good Samaritan in the head with a bottle, causing a laceration, police said.

Police, on Thursday, Nov. 9, arrested 39-year-old Gregory Williams, who they say is a resident of the Cooper Rapid Rehousing Center — an all men’s homeless shelter in Glendale — in connection with the robbery.

Williams is facing charges of robbery and criminal possession of stolen property, according to the police.
