Police searching for crook who stole woman’s purse in Kew Gardens

Police from the 102nd Precinct are searching for the crook who stole a woman’s purse in Kew Gardens earlier this month.

Authorities say that the unidentified man entered Laney’s Laundry & Dry Clean, located at 80-57 Lefferts Blvd. in Kew Gardens, at approximately 9 p.m. on April 21. Once inside, he snatched a purse belonging to a 24-year-old woman that was behind the counter. The purse contained credit cards and $900 in cash, police said.

The woman was not injured as a result of the incident.

The crook attempted to use the woman’s credit card at Green Olive Grocery, located at 80-45 Kew Gardens Rd., but was unsuccessful, according to authorities.

The suspect was last seen heading northbound on Lefferts Boulevard, police said.

Authorities released surveillance video of the crook on April 28.

The man is believed to be between 25 and 30 years old and is approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black jacket and blue jeans.
