Police seek crook who punched and spit on woman at Halsey Street subway station in Ridgewood

Police from the 104th Precinct and 33rd Transit District are searching for the crook who assaulted a woman at the Halsey Street subway station in Ridgewood on Tuesday, Aug. 15. 

Police say the 26-year-old victim was inside the Halsey Street subway station at approximately 5:45 p.m., when the unknown assailant spit and punched her in the face. EMS arrived at the scene and transported the victim to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition. 

The crook fled the station in an unknown direction, police said. The assailant was last seen wearing a Captain America graphic T-shirt, shorts and sandals and was carrying a backpack, according to photos shared by the NYPD.
