The New York Lottery announced the third-prize-winning Powerplay ticket, worth $100,000, was sold in Breezy Point.
The winning ticket was sold at Deirdre Maeves Supermarket located at 202-36 Rockaway Point Blvd.
The Powerplay winner marks the continuation of Queens’ hot streak in terms of winning lottery tickets.
Earlier this month, the New York Lottery announced that multiple prize-winning tickets for the July 12 Take 5 drawing were sold in Queens.
Surbhi Enterprises Inc located at 75-04 Metropolitan Ave. in Middle Village sold one winning ticket worth $12,384.50 and Tibbs Stationary Inc., located at 112-17 Linden Blvd. in South Ozone Park, also sold a winning ticket worth the same amount.
The Powerball drawing is televised every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.The New York Lottery is the most profitable lottery in North America, contributing $3.6 billion in 2021-22 to support education in New York state.
