Stranger sexually assaults woman in Murray Hill alley: NYPD

Dec. 6, 2023 By Bill Parry

A woman was forced into a Murray Hill alley where she was sexually abused by a stranger early Monday, Dec. 4, according to the NYPD.

Police from the 109th Precinct in Flushing reported that the 43-year-old victim was standing in front of a Korean restaurant at 160-30 Northern Blvd. at around 5:15 a.m. when the unidentified man forcefully pulled her into an alley a half-block away, where he proceeded to sexually abuse her, police said. The attacker then fled on foot heading westbound on Northern Boulevard toward 160th Street.

EMS responded to the crime scene and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospital/Queens, where she was listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The NYPD released a surveillance image of the suspect on Dec. 6 and described him as having a light complexion and slim build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, light colored pants, a dark baseball cap and black sneakers.

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

Through Dec. 3, the 109th Precinct has reported 92 sex crimes so far in 2023, 14 more than the 78 reported at the same point last year, an increase of 17.9%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
