Jan. 29, 2024 By Athena Dawson A human rights organization hosted a commemoration event at the Hillcrest Jewish Center in Flushing on Sunday Jan. 28 to honor nine Holocaust survivors for the 79th anniversary of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The anniversary, which fell on Jan. 27, marked the day of liberation from the Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps.
