Nov. 1, 2023 By Anthony Medina Washed out over multiple weekends of rain throughout October, the Middle Village Players Roller Hockey League powered through scattered scheduled games and came out with some great games overall.  On Monday, Oct. 9, after a long holiday weekend following Columbus Day/Indigenous People’s Day, the first set of games saw The High Flyers against the Bears and the Jets vs. the Hawks. Oct. 31, 2023 By Anthony Medina The 104th Precinct‘s Haunted House returned for a second year in a row at 64-02 Catalpa Ave. in Ridgewood, on Sunday, Oct. 29.  Despite the rain, the haunted house still managed to open its doors and generate a crowd of eager Halloween adventurers.  This year’s haunted house, “A Haunted Carn-Evil,” embraced the theme of an evil carnival experience with scary clowns, a morbid fortune teller and a monster-like man-beast kept in a cage.  The haunted house event was expanded this year to have music, games, popcorn and cotton candy made available to eventgoers at…

Kathleen Corradi, who was appointed Rat Czar in April, was joined by representatives of multiple city agencies on Thursday, Oct. 26, who set up an information center at the 71st Avenue Plaza on Myrtle Avenue. Police seek wallet thief who snatched debit card from deli patron in Ridgewood

Oct. 30, 2023 By Emily Ramos Police from the 104th Precinct are searching for the thief who stole a man’s wallet in Ridgewood on Sunday, Oct. 15.  The 54-year-old victim and owner of the wallet told police on Tuesday, Oct. 17, he was inside of Zabka Deli, located at 66-51 Fresh Pond Road, on Oct. 15, when he noticed his wallet had fallen.
