Glendale Kiwanis Club rings in holiday season at annual tree lighting event

Dec. 5, 2023 By Anthony Medina The Kiwanis Club of Glendale kicked off the holiday season with its annual Christmas tree lighting at the Glendale Veterans Triangle on Sunday, Dec. 3.  Despite the rain at this year’s tree lighting event, members of the Glendale Kiwanis Club made sure parents and children were still able to enjoy the night’s festivities on the corner of Myrtle and Cooper avenues. Community health center to host free vaccination events in Flushing

Wang Community Health Center in Flushing is hosting two free vaccination events before the holidays, during which people can receive the updated Moderna COVID-19 booster and flu vaccines.  The vaccines are available for all eligible individuals aged 18 years and over. Police from the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica responded to a 911 call of a vehicle collision near the intersection of 146th Street and Jamaica Avenue just before 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 4.
