On Saturday, Dec. 9, Woodbine will host its fourth annual Holiday Market at Gottscheer Hall, located at 657 Fairview Ave. in Ridgewood. The center will have over 30 different vendors selling a wide array of goods. Each vendor will also contribute prizes for a fundraising raffle during the market. Dec. 5, 2023 By Bill Parry A Springfield Gardens teenager and his parents were criminally charged in connection with the death of a 14-year-old girl who was a passenger in his car when he crashed into a parked UPS truck while allegedly speeding at more than 100 miles an hour, according to the Queens District Attorney’s Office. Crunching the Queens crime numbers: burglaries trending down across most of borough

Dec. 5, 2023 By Ethan Marshall The number of burglaries across Queens has dropped year-to-date through Dec. 3 compared to 2022, according to the latest crime stats from the NYPD. While the degree of change varies between northern and southern Queens, both areas have experienced fewer burglaries. In northern Queens, burglary cases dropped 3.5% year-to-date, from 1,878 in 2022 to 1,813 this year. In southern Queens, the number of burglaries fell 7.8%, from 1,149 to 1,059. The decrease in burglary cases across northern Queens is also evident when comparing the 28-day period from Nov. 5 to Dec. 3 this year…

Wang Community Health Center in Flushing is hosting two free vaccination events before the holidays, during which people can receive the updated Moderna COVID-19 booster and flu vaccines.  The vaccines are available for all eligible individuals aged 18 years and over.
