Nov. 1, 2023 By Anthony Medina Council Member Joann Ariola and the Detective Brian “Smiles” Simonsen Foundation celebrated the peak of the Halloween season with a Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 28, in Woodhaven.  Hundreds of parents, kids, and furry pals participated in a full afternoon of a selection of rides, games, arts and crafts, and sweet treats up for grabs at Victory Field in Forest Park. Oct. 31, 2023 By Iryna Shkurhan Not long after school was dismissed, the Halloween festivities came to Bell Boulevard in Bayside on Oct. 31. Hundreds of kids decked out in their Halloween costumes went door to door to fill up their baskets with candy. But store owners were prepared.  And not long after, the large bowls they filled up with candy in preparation for trick-or-treaters were almost empty. Kids also weren’t the only ones clad in a range of fun and wholesome costumes. Adults and furry pets also brought their Halloween spirit to Bell Boulevard.
