Aug. 29, 2023 By Bill Parry

After Rocco’s of Roc Beach was declared the winner of the inaugural Queens’ Best Pizza Competition organized by the Queens Chamber of Commerce in February and Empanadas Café in Corona was declared the winner of the Queens’ Best Empanada Competition in May, voting has begun to determine who has the best barbecue restaurant in the borough.

Members of the public are encouraged to vote for their favorite eatery from among 19 nominated establishments to settle the debate over who in Queens serves up the best barbecue. The nominated restaurants include traditional barbecue joints, as well as Brazilian-style barbecues, Filipino barbecue and other styles.

The public can vote for their favorite restaurant at bit.ly/QueensBestBBQVote through Sunday, Sept. 10. The winner will be crowned with the title of “Queens’ Best Barbeque” on Wednesday, Sept. 13, and receive bragging rights, along with a complimentary membership to the Queens Chamber of Commerce.

Nominations for the contest were collected from the public over the course of several weeks and include the following establishments:

  • Batesy’s BBQ and Bar in Arverne
  • Ben’s Kosher Deli in Bayside
