25 Year-Old Man Shot Dead in Drive-By Shooting in Glendale Early Friday: NYPD

A 25-year-old man was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in Glendale early Friday.

The victim, who was driving a silver Chevy Malibu, was gunned down while he was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Woodhaven Boulevard and Myrtle Avenue at around 12:45 a.m., according to police.

A black vehicle pulled up alongside the Chevy and a gunman began firing shots before speeding away from the scene, police said.

The 25-year-old was struck in the chest and attempted to drive away from the gunfire but slammed his car into a street lamp, according to published reports.

The victim, who was the sole occupant of the Chevy, was transferred to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

His identity has not been released, pending family investigation.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
