72-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Struck by Car in Kew Gardens Hills

A 72-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in Kew Gardens Hills early Friday morning.

The senior was crossing Horace Harding Expressway at the intersection of Main Street when he was struck by a 2008 Toyota Sienna at 4:45 a.m. He reportedly crossed the street against a steady green light, police said.

Arriving officers found the man lying on the roadway with severe trauma about the body. EMS rushed the man to New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver, who struck the senior, remained at the scene. There have been no arrests, police said.

The man’s identity is pending proper family notification.
