A 74-year-old pedestrian is dead after he was struck by a motorcycle in Rego Park Tuesday.

The victim, police said, was attempting to cross the intersection at Woodhaven Boulevard and 62nd Road at around 5:10 p.m. when a 22-year-old man driving a Kawasaki motorcycle slammed into him.

The motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Woodhaven Boulevard when he plowed into the senior, police said.  An eyewitness told ABC7 News that the motorcyclist lost control of his bike causing him to crash into the victim, although the police could not confirm this.

The senior suffered severe trauma to his head and body. He was transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst but could not be saved, the NYPD said.

The motorcyclist remained at the scene and was then taken by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst with minor injuries, the NYPD said.

It is unclear if the pedestrian was in the crosswalk when he was struck — or if the victim had the light.

The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is still investigating the incident.

The pedestrian’s name is being withheld pending family notification.

No arrests have been made.
