75-Year-Old Woman is Dead After Being Struck By Car in Middle Village Thursday

A 75-year-old woman is dead after she was struck by a car while crossing a street in Middle Village Tuesday morning.

The woman was hit while attempting to cross a section of road near Juniper Boulevard and 81st Street at around 6:30 a.m., according to police.

When police arrived, the woman was lying on the roadway with trauma.

She was transferred to North Shore University Hospital by EMS where she was later pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation by police revealed that the woman was trying to cross Juniper Boulevard mid-block. She had walked in between two parked cars to get onto the road–before the vehicle collided with her, police said.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and no arrests have been made, police said.

Police said no criminality is suspected and the investigation is ongoing.

The police did not provide any further information.
