An 89-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck by a motorist while crossing 48th Street near Northern Boulevard on Saturday.

The elderly woman was crossing 48th Street at around 2:40 p.m. when a driver operating a Dodge Durango made a left turn out of a parking lot and hit her. The driver, who was exiting the parking lot where BJ’s Wholesale Club is located, was turning northbound on 48th Street.

EMS responded to the scene and transported the 89-year-old to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst where she is listed in critical condition.

The driver, a 37-year-old man, remained on the scene. He too was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst but with minor injuries.

No arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.

Flushing man arrested for impersonating ICE agent in visa fraud scheme: Feds

An alleged Flushing con artist was arrested by FBI agents in Brooklyn Friday morning after a federal grand jury indicted him for perpetrating a visa fraud scheme by pretending to be an ICE agent.

Tommy Aijie Da Silva Weng, 49, was arraigned in Brooklyn federal court on Friday afternoon on an indictment charging him with wire fraud, mail fraud, and impersonating a federal law enforcement agent in connection to a scam to defraud an unidentified Chinese citizen who resides in the United States by claiming he could help her in obtaining a green card through an EB-5 Immigrant Investor Visa Program if she invested $500,000 with him for a project to build hotels in California.
