An international restaurant chain known for its ramen will open a location in Bayside in the coming months.

Kyura Men—which has restaurants in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the U.S. – will open at 38-35 Bell Blvd. in September.

The new restaurant will be the chain’s third in Queens. The company opened its first Queens restaurant in Flushing in 2019 and is scheduled to open a space in Long Island City by the end of August.

The Bayside location is set to be the company’s flagship location in North America, according to Vanessa Choi, a spokesperson for Kyura Men.

The company, upon the opening of the Bayside and Long Island City locations, will have five restaurants in the United States—with a restaurant in Manhattan and another in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.  The chain has more than 120 restaurants worldwide.

Choi said the company was attracted to Bell Boulevard’s busy commercial strip. The restaurant is taking over a space that was previously occupied by the sportswear store Sneaker & Sports.

  1. “This is a very good location and a good way to introduce our brand to the neighborhood,” Choi said.

The new storefront is currently undergoing refurbishment and will feature a wooden interior mixed with white and gray colors. The restaurant will not be offering outdoor dining.

Kyura Men’s ramen dishes are made using wavy noodles or straight noodles that are filled with a pork, chicken or fish-based broth. Most bowls come with bamboo shoot, wakame, a half-marinated egg, nori and corn.

The company’s most popular ramen items include the Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu, the Sapporo Miso Ramen and the Japanese Tonkatsu Curry Ramen, Choi said.

The restaurant will also offer a range of specialty burgers that feature patties nestled between two noodle or rice ramen buns. It will also serve iced teas, matchas, ramune and alcohol.

The Bayside restaurant will be the first Kyura Men in New York to feature a beverage counter under the TBaar brand, which will offer bubble teas, smoothies and fruit juices. TBaar has more than 20 bubble tea stores across the U.S.

The Bayside location will be operated by Gary Lin, who owns the franchise for Kyura Men in North America.

Opening hours will be from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Sundays.
