An international restaurant chain known for its traditional ramen is opening a location in Long Island City this summer.

Kyura Men—which has restaurants in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the U.S.—plans to open on the ground floor of the Star Tower in Court Square – located at 27-17 42nd Rd. The restaurant will be it’s second in Queens, with the other in Flushing.

The company opened its Flushing restaurant in 2019 and plans to open its Court Square location by the end of August. The chain, which has more than 120 locations, also plans to open a restaurant in Bayside by the end of summer.

Vanessa Choi, a spokesperson for Kyura Men, said there is a lack of restaurants serving ramen in Long Island City and the company aims to fill a gap in the market.

Kyura Men’s ramen dishes are made using wavy noodles or straight noodles that are filled with a pork, chicken or fish-based broth. Most bowls come with bamboo shoot, wakame, a half-marinated egg, nori and corn.

LIC customers will soon get a chance to savor some of the company’s most popular ramen items including the Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu, the mega ramen and the Tonkatsu curry ramen.

The restaurant will also offer a range of specialty burgers that feature patties nestled between two noodle or rice ramen buns. It will also serve iced teas, matchas, ramune and alcohol.

Opening hours have not been finalized but will likely be from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.
