Madison Realty Capital opens leasing for two-tower development at Woodside Central

Madison Realty Capital announced it is opening its leasing for two residential towers at Woodside Central. 

The two towers will be a part of a mixed-use development on Queens Boulevard including mixed-income apartments, retail facilities, outdoor space. This project will also include a new public school. 

In collaboration with the New York City School Construction Authority, the Department of Education, and Madison Realty Capital, PS Q340 is anticipated to open in September 2025. 

“In addition to beginning the construction of a state-of-the-art elementary school, we are pleased to be able to provide high-quality affordable housing to the vibrant Woodside community at a time when building affordable housing options is more critical than ever for New Yorkers,” said Zachary Kadden, managing director of Development at Madison Realty Capital. 

Madision Realty Capital will be outsourcing MNS Real Estate for leasing and marketing purposes.

Woodside Central is located at 46-09 69th St. and 46-10 70th St. in Woodside, Queens. The property will offer 478 units, with a variety of studio, one- and two-bedroom luxury rentals, with western views of Manhattan. Thirty percent of these units will be dedicated to the city’s Mandatory Inclusionary Housing program. Units will range from 430 square feet to 1,030 square feet. 

The rentals are designed by AKM Architects with elements of oak wood and quartz throughout the unit. Units will also include a Blomberg Kitchen Applicance Package, custom kitchen cabinetry and more. Residents can also access amenities such as a fitness center, laundry room, and the roof deck.

FDNY investigates blaze at CALLAHEAD portable toilet headquarters in Broad Channel

FDNY fire marshals are still working to determine the cause of a stubborn 2-alarm fire at the CALLAHEAD headquarters in Broad Channel that injured a civilian and a firefighter on the night of Sunday, April 27.

The blaze broke out at 3-04 Cross Bay Blvd. just before 7 p.m. at New York’s largest portable sanitation company at the southern edge of the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. The fire went to a second alarm, bringing 25 units and 106 firefighters and EMS personnel to the scene between East 3rd Street and East 4th Street. EMS transported the civilian to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with minor injuries. EMS transported the firefighter to Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow with minor injuries.
