Iconic Coca-Cola truck to visit College Point Showcase Multiplex Cinema this weekend

The iconic Coca-Cola truck is coming to the College Point Showcase Multiplex Cinema in Whitestone on Saturday, Dec. 9, giving locals an opportunity to get in the holiday spirit and take festive pictures.

The truck will be stationed at the College Point Showcase Multiplex Cinema, located at 2855 Ulmer St. in Whitestone from 6-9 p.m. It will be located in the parking lot and guests of all ages are encouraged to come and join in on the holiday fun. 

There will also be a special appearance from Santa Claus in the lobby of the of the cinema, where people can take pictures free of charge. 

The Coca-Cola Truck has become a celebrated annual Christmas tradition since 1997. It visits various cities across America, signaling the beginning of the Christmas season.

Armed suspects impersonating Amazon workers invade Whitestone home, Paladino urges gun rights

A family was held at gunpoint during a violent home invasion Monday morning in Whitestone, prompting Council Member Vickie Paladino to urge residents to arm themselves in order to protect their homes and families.

According to police, two armed men posing as Amazon delivery workers forced their way into a residence near 12th Avenue and 152nd Street around 7 a.m. The suspects entered through an unlocked door shortly after a 15-year-old daughter left for school.
