Woman Fatally Stabbed in a Jackson Heights Apartment Following Domestic Dispute

A woman is dead after being stabbed by her husband in a Jackson Heights apartment early this morning, according to police.

Police responded to a 911 call of an assault at 94-26 34th Road at around 2:20 a.m. and upon arrival discovered a man and a woman both with stab wounds.

The woman, 45, had multiple stab wounds to her body, while the man had stab wounds to his abdomen.

Both were transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Elmhurst, where the woman, Yaqueline Collado, was pronounced dead. The man, whose identity has not been released, is in critical condition and is in police custody.

Police said the stabbings stemmed from a domestic dispute but had no further information. The investigation is ongoing.

The FDNY battled a two-alarm blaze at a restaurant in Rockaway Beach that stirred up some ghosts for residents of the neighborhood.

The fire broke out just after 7 p.m. at the Smoke and Barrel BBQ at 97-20 Rockway Beach Blvd., in the same location as the old Boggiano’s Bar and Grill. It stood for three-quarters of a century across from the entrance to Rockaway Beach’s Playland Amusement Park, which drew visitors from across the city to what was known as the Irish Riviera, an alternative to Coney Island on the Brooklyn side of Jamaica Bay.
